How to Restart Audio Services
Many users have noticed that after a system update or installation of some software, the sound volume control icon lying in the system tray fails to work. It responds to no action. Although it doesn't affect the engendering of actual audio, it would still very inconvenient for users familiar with the way of controlling the sound volume.
The solution we offer in this article is to restart audio services since it is not inimical to your computer. Take the following steps to see if it works.
Step 1: Press Win + R to launch Run.
Step 2: Enter services.msc and click on OK.
Step 3: On the right page, scroll down to find Windows Audio.
Step 4: Right-click on it and select properties.
Step 5: Change the Startup type to Automatic.
Step 6: Click on the Stop button, and once it has stopped, Start it again. Step 7: Restart your computer and check if you can use the volume icon in the system tray.
