[Fixed]Thumbnail Previews Not Showing in Windows 10 File Explorer

The File Explorer in Windows 10 offers users eight ways of viewing: extra large icons, large icons, small icons, tiles, list, content, medium icons, and details. Some of these views present thumbnail previews of pictures and videos to help users find the files they are looking for. Sometimes this feature could run into issues, failing to present previews. Refer to the following steps to learn how to fix it.

Step 1: Press Win + E to open File Explorer.

Step 2: Click on the View tab and make sure that you have turned on any of the following five views.

  • Extra large icons
  • Large icons
  • Medium icons
  • Tiles
  • Content
Step 3: Click on the File tab at the upper-left corner.

Step 4: Select Change folder and search options. Under the View tab, uncheck the option labeled Always show icons, never thumbnails.

Step 5: Click on OK to finish the setting.
