How to Change the Default Recycle Bin Icon in Windows 10

Many computer users find the current default recycle bin set by Windows 10 is not obviously transparent. Luckily, if you want to replace it with other cool and pretty icons, you don’t need to download some third-party utility to change the default icons in Windows 10. Windows 10 offers an easy way for users to do that.

Replace the default recycle bin with a new one

Step 1: Right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize.

Step 2: Navigate to Themes.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Related Settings section and click on Desk icon settings.

Step 4: Select a recycle bin icon (full or empty) in the box and click on the Change icon.

Step 5: Then there are two ways offered for users to change the default icons of certain applications. one is to browse the disks to select the one you have saved. The other one is to use the icons saved by Windows 10.

Note: The icon file must be in .ico format. Users can download any image they like and convert them to an file in .ico format through an online image converter.
