How to Change Command Prompt Background Color in Windows 10

Black is the default background color of Command Prompt, a powerful application offered by Microsoft. The program is stable and has been part of the Windows operating systems for a long time, although it rarely gets an update. However, Windows 10 has altered the application a bit and furnish it with several small features. Users of Windows 10 are now allowed to change the background color of Command Prompt. Refer to the following steps to learn how to do so.

Step 1: Right-click on the Start Menu at the lower-left corner of the desktop.

Step 2: Select Command Prompt to open it.

Step 3: Right-click on the title bar of the Command Prompt window and then select Properties.

Step 4: Under the Colors tab, check off the box next to Screen Background and select a color box below it.
