How to Reset Windows Media Library WMDB Files

WMDB, shorthand for Windows Media Library Database, keeps the locations of all the video and audio files stored on the computer. If it gets corrupted, it may well fail to keep those locations anymore. To fix the problem, you can reset the database. Many users reported that after the resetting, the problem has been perfectly tackled. Use the following steps to reset the database:

Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run box.

Step 2: Type in Services.msc and enter it.

Step 3: Scroll down the right page to find Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service.

Step 4: Double-click on it and then stop it.

Step 5: Press Win + E to open File Explorer and navigate to

“%Userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player.”

Step 6: Delete all the WMDB types of files in this folder.

Step 7: Open Windows Media Player to see whether the problem is fixed.
