How to Enable or Disable Netbios Over TCP/IP in Windows 10
When DNS is not available in Windows 10, NetBIOS will instead be used. As a fallback method, it's not the default choice. and even when it runs, it runs over TCP/IP. On top of that, NetBIOS has its own set of security concerns. If you want to disable/enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in Windows 10, you can refer to these steps:
Step 1: Type in Control Panel in the search bar and open it.
Step 2: Navigate to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
Step 3: Right-click on your connection name and then select Properties.
Step 4: Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Step 5: Click on the Advanced button and then switch to the WINS tab.
Step 6: Within the NetBIOS setting section, select an option you want.
