How to Enable or Disable Netbios Over TCP/IP in Windows 10

When DNS is not available in Windows 10, NetBIOS will instead be used. As a fallback method, it's not the default choice. and even when it runs, it runs over TCP/IP. On top of that, NetBIOS has its own set of security concerns. If you want to disable/enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in Windows 10, you can refer to these steps:

Step 1: Type in Control Panel in the search bar and open it.

Step 2: Navigate to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.

Step 3: Right-click on your connection name and then select Properties.

Step 4: Double-click  Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Step 5: Click on the Advanced button and then switch to the WINS tab.

Step 6: Within the NetBIOS setting section, select an option you want.
