How to Change Default Webcam in Windows 10

To add and use a second webcam to your laptop is quite simple, but to use a secondary camera for chatting and video recording and for the webcam to co-operate with other software applications installed on your computer, you’ll need to disable the computer's built-in webcam and set the secondary webcam as the primary device. Refer to the following steps to learn how to do so:

Step 1: Connect the secondary webcam to your computer.

Step 2: Press Win + R and then type in Control Panel.

Step 3: change View by option to Small icons.

Step 4: Select Devices and Printers.

Step 5: Right-click on secondary webcam and then click on Set this device as default.

Step 6: Type in Device Manager in the search bar and then open it.

Step 7: Expand the Camera tree and then right-click on Webcam driver.

Step 8: Click on disable device.
