How to Disable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) in Windows 10

If you prefer to disable the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) feature in Windows 10, you could use the following guide. Since Windows 10 provides an in-built option capable of disabling this feature, no extra software is required.

ICS, the shorthand for Internet Connection Sharing, is a feature that allows you to share your computer’s internet connection with multiple computers that are connected in a Local Area Network. Let's put it another way, the feature can provide an internet connection to more than one PC from a single IP address via the NAT technology. To disable it, use these steps:

Step 1: Press Win+R to open the Run box.

Step 2: Type in ncpa.cpl and then press the Enter button.

Step 3: Right-click the network adapter.

Step 4: Choose the Properties option.

Step 5: Switch to the Sharing tab.

Step 6: Uncheck the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection checkbox.

Step 7: Click on the OK button.
