How to Disable Telemetry & Data Collection via Task Scheduler in Windows 10
The Telemetry and Data Collection feature in Windows 10 is auto-enabled and it's created to collect all kinds of user activity and send it to Microsoft. Microsoft says that it collects the data only to boost the overall user experience and functionality of Windows better – but as the number of data breaches has rised in recent years across the globe, users are forced to be extra concerned with their data privacy. In this article, we will explain to you how to disable Telemetry and Data Collection via Task Scheduler in Windows 10.
Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run box.
Step 2: In the Run box, type in taskschd.msc.
Step 3: Press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER key together to open Task Scheduler in Administrator mode.
Step 4: In the window that has opened, on the left pane, navigate to:
Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > Customer Experience Improvement Program
Step 5: Right-click on the task named Consolidator on the middle pane and then select Disable.
Step 6: Repeat the process to disable other tasks listed on the middle pane.
